The word dragon comes from the Greek language and his believed to derive either from a word that means serpent or snake, or a word that means, "that which can see." The first reference found Ancient Greece comes from the Iliad where Agamemnon is described as having a blue dragon motif on his sword belt and a three-headed dragon emblem on his breast plate.
In the Orient dragons were the symbol of the Emperor, master of all. This dragon can take many forms, even human, and can be victorious in any circumstance. It is usually seen as benevolent. The dragon is part of the Chinese zodiac and is a common site at festivals were it appears as a huge dragon costume manipulate by several people.
In fact dragons are found in many cultures and are even found in religious doctrines, including the Bible. Dragons represent a primal force in the world. They can breathe fire or ice and can be creators as well as destroyers.
